President Truong Tan Sang arrived in Vientiane on February 9, beginning his three-day official visit to Laos.

The Communist Party of Vietnam has recently issued Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW, on Vietnamese entrepreneurs. The Resolution affirms that Vietnamese entrepreneurs have constantly grown and actively contributed to the implementation of socio-economic development strategies, the creation of jobs for laborers, the settlement of social security matters as well as hunger elimination and poverty reduction.

Vietnam’s labor and employment laws continue to play a crucial role in the creation of a sound legal system intended to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and contribute to the country’s economic development and social stability.

Under Vietnamese law, foreigners are persons bearing the nationalities of other countries, who are studying, working or living in the Vietnamese territory. Stateless people are persons without nationality of any country, who are residing in the Vietnamese territory.

Truong Chinh made important contributions to the formulation and promulgation of the 1980 Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and many laws, and to the promotion of democracy and the building of a socialist state ruled by law.
